Ingredient Highlights
Cayenne pepper contains an active compound called capsaicin that gives it both its hot taste and its medicinal properties.
Coconut oil provides a boost of healthy fat that can energize and satiate. It is a strong antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial food.
Ginger is a potent aromatic herb and a good natural source of vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, copper, and manganese. It has been used for thousands of years in Asia to treat stomach ache, diarrhea, and nausea.
Green tea and black tea are both made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant and are rich in protective antioxidants called polyphenols. Green tea is processed to prevent oxidation which is why it’s much lighter in color than black tea.
Lemon juice contains enzymes that accelerate the digestive process. Even though lemon juice is acidic, it actually has an alkalizing effect on the body.
Maple syrup contains a number of minerals including manganese, zinc, calcium, and potassium. It also contains amino acids, antioxidants, and even some anti-inflammatory compounds.
Organic Orange Essential Oil is made from organic orange peel and can be beneficial for those suffering from stomach issues such as excess gas and constipation.
Raw honey is a good source of many vitamins and is rich in antioxidants.
Turmeric has tremendous health benefits including helping with cardiovascular health and digestion. It’s also known to improve cognitive function along with detoxifying the liver.

How do you know if you "need" to detox? If you should just plan on doing it every once in a while, then how often? I'm not crazy about tea of any kind, but am thinking of trying this, as soon as I get the ingredients. Usually don't buy the raw turmeric or ginger roots, but will get some for this.

I substituted this for my Organic, single origin coffee for 1 week. How often should I do a gentle detox like this?
Terri B in LG says
Can I make a batch of tea and refrigerate it?
Customer Service says
Hi Terri B in LG, thank you for your question.
You are free to refrigerate it if you choose to do so. Although, there's nothing like drinking it when it's freshly made.
If you decide to give it a try, do let us know how it turns out for you. We'd love to know.
Thank you for tuning in. We hope you have a wonderful day!

Good morning...So I did make the tea and refrigerated 1/2 for the second day. It tasted as good as the first cup. Since my tea bags make an 8 oz cup I saved the 2nd 1-1/2 cups for the next day and warmed it up. A lot of work but I really enjoy the flavor!
