Five Spice Celery Apple Almond Smoothie

Ingredients Highlights 

Almond butter is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, plant-based protein, and dietary fiber. It also provides vitamin E, magnesium, and small amounts of calcium and iron. You can easily make your own almond butter in a food processor or high-speed blender. You need around 2 cups + 2 TBSP of almonds to make 1 cup of almond butter.

Apples contain dietary fiber, particularly pectin, and are a source of vitamin C and various polyphenols. They also provide natural sugars and hydration due to their high water content.

Celery is a low-calorie vegetable that provides vitamin K, folate, and potassium. It is also composed of about 95% water, making it naturally hydrating and a source of dietary fiber.

Five Spice Blend is typically made from star anise, cloves, cinnamon, peppercorns, and fennel seeds. This flavorful spice blend contains a variety of plant-derived compounds such as essential oils and polyphenols, along with trace amounts of minerals.

Lemon is high in vitamin C, which is required for countless bodily functions including skin, immune system, and cardiovascular health.

Ingredients

6 organic celery stalks
3 organic apples
¼ cup natural almond butter (or preferred nut/seed butter)
½ lemon, juiced
½ teaspoon Five Spice blend (or more)

Ice, for desired thickness

Instructions

  1. Juice celery and apples in juicer.
  2. Add juice to high-speed blender along with lemon juice, almond butter, five spice blend, and Multi-Vita-Maxx capsule contents. Blend up well adding desired amount of ice for a thicker smoothie.
  3. Pour into 2 glasses and enjoy!

  2. The recipe is not for a smoothie. It’s for a protein nut ball. What liquid is used in the smoothie? There are no pistachios in the ingredient list.‍♀️

  3. This interested me until reading the instructions which don't seem to be for making a smoothie. Making teaspoon sized balls and rolling in chopped pistachios?

    Is the nutritional information for the smoothie ingredients or the balls??
