1 ½ cups hazelnuts
1/16 teaspoon pink Himalayan sea salt (optional)
3 cups filtered water
1 inch peeled & sliced turmeric root
6 large pitted Medjool dates (or fewer)
11 oz coconut cream (about 1 1/3 cup)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cardamom

Optional toppings:
Whipped coconut cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric

Optional Add-In (Non-Vegan):
1-2 scoops Organixx Clean Sourced Collagens powder

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Spread out hazelnuts onto a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for 10 – 15 minutes, or until golden brown and fragrant. Cool nuts until able to handle.
  2. Remove the brown papery skin from the hazelnuts by placing them onto a clean kitchen towel and rubbing until the papery skins are removed.
  3. Place hazelnuts into a high-speed blender along with filtered water and turmeric. Blend up well and filter through a nut milk bag.
  4. Add filtered liquid back to the blender along with the remaining ingredients. Allow liquid to first sit for 10 minutes to soften dates. Blend again until a creamy consistency is reached.
  5. Pour eggnog into glasses to enjoy right away, or store in the refrigerator if serving later.

Optional toppings: whipped coconut cream and/or a sprinkle of nutmeg/cinnamon/turmeric.

Coconut cream – To make coconut cream, place a can of full-fat coconut milk in the fridge for several hours. Open the can and scoop out the solid “cream” that has risen to the top.

Dates offer significant support for the digestive system, target parasites, and help remove yeast, heavy metals, and other pathogens from the gut.

Hazelnuts, also known as filberts, are marble-sized nuts that are a nutrient-rich source of carbohydrates, healthy fats, protein, and dietary fiber. Unlike most other nuts, hazelnuts are also an excellent source of folate.

Nutmeg has a warm sweet flavor and boasts a variety of impressive health benefits. It’s rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. Animal studies show it may help boost mood, enhance blood sugar control, and reduce risk factors for heart disease.

Turmeric — A 2017 meta-analysis looking at studies using turmeric and its key compound curcumin to treat depression found that curcumin “appears to be safe, well-tolerated, and efficacious among depressed patients.” Researchers noted that significant anti-anxiety effects were also reported in three of the trials they reviewed. Best of all, there were NO adverse effects from turmeric/curcumin in any of the trials.

  1. I love your healthy recipes so much -- THANK YOU!!!

I'll add this one to my collection.

I wonder if it would be as good with any other nut or with a nut milk already prepared from the health food store.

  2. I'm so glad you are enjoying the recipes, Jeanne! This one is absolutely delicious. I haven't tried using other nut milks but I would imagine they would work just fine. Please share with us what you find out!

    Happy holidays,
