Soothing Pineapple Peel Tea

Ingredients
Peel & core from washed organic pineapple (or soaked non-organic)
14 cups filtered water
Juice from 1 lemon
¼ – ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
Spices:
3-4 inches ginger root, grated or chopped (about 3 heaping TBSP grated)
2-3 inches turmeric root, grated or chopped (about 2 heaping TBSP grated)
12 cardamom pods, cracked
9 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1 star anise
Add-ins:
Preferred sweetener, to taste (honey, stevia, etc.)
Organixx OrganiGreens green juice powder (whisk in 1 scoop to each serving)
Garnish with Ceylon cinnamon/turmeric powder
Instructions
- Wash and peel organic pineapple. (If you don’t have organic, soak it in a pot of water with 1 teaspoon of vinegar. Wash thoroughly.)
- Place peel and core into a large pot. Add in desired spices.
- Cover with filtered water. Heat until hot but not boiling.
- Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 1-8 hours depending on desired strength of tea. Strain.
- Enjoy warm or cold with desired add-ins. Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days.
