Cinnamon Orange Hemp Granola
Ingredients
2 cups old-fashioned Gluten-free oats
½ cup pecans/walnuts, chopped or left whole
½ cup hemp hearts
3 scoops Organixx Clean Sourced Collagens powder
1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon (or more)
¼ – ½ teaspoon pink Himalayan/sea salt
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ cup pure maple syrup/honey/agave nectar
¼ cup coconut oil, melted & cooled (or olive/avocado oil)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Zest from 1 large organic orange (about 1 Tablespoon)
¼ cup favorite dried fruit, chopped if needed
Additional add-ins:
Chocolate chips (add after baking with dried fruit)
Coconut chips (stir in halfway through baking)
Sunflower/pumpkin seeds (add at same time as nuts)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, toss together oats, nuts, hemp hearts, collagens powder, cinnamon, salt, and ginger.
- Pour maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla, and orange zest over mixture in the bowl. Stir together to coat evenly.
- Spread granola mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet and press down evenly.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring once halfway through and pressing granola down again. Be sure to not over bake. Granola will be a little sticky but hardens as it cools.
- Remove pan from oven and top with dried fruit (and chocolate chips, if using).
- Allow granola to cool completely. Remove from pan and store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Enjoy!

Heating is necessary for creating collagen powders as it makes it available for us to digest it as food. Just like making homemade bone broth, you need to boil the bones to break down its molecular structure enough for our digestive system to access and absorb the nutrients. Cooking or using collagens powders in hot drinks does not affect its efficacy or nutrient value. I hope this helps!

I am interested in the answer to Cheryl Lee regarding baked or heated collagen. I put it in my hot coffee daily and I was going to try the recipe above.
Cheryl Lee says
I don’t understand how collagen can be put into any baked or heated recipe. Isn’t your collagen supplement fully bioavailable inly when placed in room temperature or cold drinks?
