Jonathan Hunsaker: Curious how to boost your testosterone naturally?

Jonathan Hunsaker here with Organixx. This video is for all the men out there, and even some of the women that want to share this information with their men. We’re talking about testosterone, and we’re talking about how to boost it naturally. Us men, as we get older, our testosterone naturally drops, and we have to find ways to keep it up. If we want to stay feeling young, staying energized, and even looking young, we’ve got to keep our testosterone levels at a more balanced level. So, let’s go ask Doc Nuzum right now how to do that.

Dr. Daniel Nuzum: What are some natural ways that you could boost your testosterone?

Let’s look at why would you want to boost your testosterone? For us gentlemen, testosterone gives us all of our masculine traits: our muscles, our facial hair, our virility, our sex drive, and those types of things. Those are all very testosterone-driven parts of us being men. It’s important in our society, it’s important for our families, it’s important in the workplace, but it’s also very important for our health, okay?

When a man’s testosterone starts to drop, one of the first muscles that are affected is the heart. How many gentlemen do you know have died of heart attacks? The heart muscle starts to be affected as testosterone drops. And if testosterone drops at the same time that estrogen starts to rise, the blood vessels in the heart start to harden. We’re not even discussing other things. Those are just some—that’s a very core, very essential component to our health that testosterone directly affects.

So, what are some ways we can raise testosterone naturally? Well, one, short bouts of intense exercise. Short bouts being 20 minutes or less. The more frequent, the better. So, maybe 20 minutes in the morning, 20 minutes at night even, or 20 minutes a day at least, where you do some intense exercise. I’m talking about push-ups, sit-ups, squats, chin-ups, things like that if you’re not going to go to the gym. Or go to the gym and hit it hard for 20 minutes.

That’s the kind of exercise that raises testosterone naturally. What happens there is if we go much longer than that, we start to get a response from our adrenal glands, and our cortisol level starts to go up, which is counterproductive. Cortisol reduces testosterone.

Number two, you have nutrients like boron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, iodine. Those are all major minerals that your body needs in sufficient amounts to produce testosterone. Then you need things like vitamin B-12, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-3. Those vitamins, vitamin E. These are all other nutrients that your body needs to metabolize the testosterone properly.

Testosterone, in particular, is a cholesterol-based hormone that needs other nutrients for the body to produce it. For your body to produce testosterone, it needs the nuts and bolts–the raw materials to do that. That’s what I’m talking about here. You supplement with these nutrients that positively will affect your testosterone levels.

Another thing that you can consider doing is consuming adaptogens. Adaptogens, like ashwagandha, and cordyceps, and epimedium, and Muira puama, maca; Rhodiola is another good adaptogen. Eleuthero is another [perfect] one.

All of those adaptogens enhance our hormone metabolism, but also our hormone regulation system. We have our hypothalamus and our pituitary glands in our brain that regulate our hormonal system. And the interaction between our hypothalamus and pituitary glands and the rest of our glands, and our liver are all positively affected by consuming adaptogens.

We have intense, short bursts of exercise. We have nutritional supplementation. We have adaptogens.

Now the exciting thing with adaptogens—adaptogens reduce the massive outpouring of cortisol when we have stressful situations, okay? So, they mitigate our stress response. Stress doesn’t affect us negatively, as bad, when we’re taking adaptogens. In doing that–that frees up more testosterone for us to to be healthy.

These are the [necessary] things you can do to raise or boost, naturally boost your testosterone.
