Signs You Have too Much Estrogen (If You're a Woman): "Doc Talks" with Dr. Nuzum
Jonathan Hunsaker: Ladies, curious if you have too much estrogen?
Jonathan Hunsaker here with Organixx, once again. Thanks for tuning in. This video is for the women out there, and we’re going to talk about estrogen. Obviously estrogen is an essential female hormone, but the big question is “Do you have too much?” Let’s ask Doc Nuzum right now.
Dr. Daniel Nuzum: So, today we’re talking about signs that a woman has too much estrogen.
Body shapes say a lot about hormones. The more apple-shaped body that is almost always high cortisol and high insulin. The more pear-shaped body type, that’s typically where you’ll find the estrogen dominance. The estrogen causes the weight to accumulate right around the waist, or the hips. That’s more the estrogen dominant.
Another thing is facial hair. Estrogen dominance in women produces facial hair.
Anyone that has a slow or underactive thyroid will naturally tend to be estrogen dominant, and that causes all kinds of other metabolic issues, and it causes — can lead to Type 2 Diabetes. It causes polycystic ovarian syndrome, causes polycystic breast disease.
There are all kinds of things that happen in this sequence that are actually very common issues amongst women and amongst young women.
Infertility almost always has an estrogen dominant component in women.
Another thing is, on that note, women that have a history of miscarriages, that’s another sign of estrogen dominance. There is not enough thyroid and progesterone hormones in their system to maintain that pregnancy.
So, I hope that was helpful in understanding the estrogen dominance situation that women have found themselves in today.
Jonathan Hunsaker: Wow, thanks, Doc. He’s such a wealth of information, isn’t he? I just love listening to him. I learn so much every time I listen to him.
