Is it Safe for Someone on High Blood Pressure Medicine to Use Frankincense Oil? “Ask the Doc”
Jonathan Hunsaker: On today’s episode of “Ask the Doc,” we’re talking about frankincense oil and high blood pressure.
Jonathan Hunsaker here with Organixx, and we’re having a lot of fun with our new series called “Ask the Doc.” Today’s question is “Is it safe for someone on high blood pressure medicine to use frankincense oil?”
Dr. Daniel Nuzum: Okay, so our question was “Is it safe to take the Magi-Complexx and/or frankincense oil if you’re on high blood pressure medicine?” My experience with patients on high blood pressure medicine is I’ve never seen anyone have any bad response with the Magi-Complexx or with frankincense oil.
I have never seen any interactions between these supplements and blood pressure medicines. But I always advise all of my patients, and I can’t recommend this strongly enough, do not take medications and supplements at the same time. You normally shouldn’t take medications and food at the same time, either.
What you’re eating and what you’re medicating with can have bad interactions. Supplements are food, so, you don’t want to mix food and medication. That’s normally a bad idea. I have not seen any of my patients over the years have any bad responses with any of these supplements, and have not seen anyone have any bad interactions with blood pressure medicines with the Magi-Complexx or the frankincense oil.
The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor about this. Either your doctor, your naturopath, your chiropractor, somebody knowledgeable in both fields would be the best person to talk to. So, I hope that helps clear up the question.
