  • ½ of a medium cucumber

  • 1/4 of a medium banana

  1. I really appreciate this recipe! However, I have learned along the way that we should not mix fruit and vegetables ( some are neutral such as lemon and cucumber, etc. and can be mixed, but I certainly would not want to mix arugula and banana. ) I would like to make a Green Detox Smoothie ~ Fruit to drink 45 minutes before I drink the Green Detox Smoothie ~ Vegetable. What I need to know is if it will still be effective as a Detox Smoothie? (It takes 20 minutes for raw fruit to leave the stomach, 45 minutes for banana, I understand)

We have published quite a few smoothies in the past that you can find here: With regards to your question, we generally recommend that you consult with a health professional for this since everyone’s body is different and we cannot determine if a certain ingredient substitution will have the same effect to the recipe we posted. That said, part of the goal of Detoxx is to bring a healthy balance back into your digestive system, and obviously, a healthier diet can assist with that. Going easy on your digestive system by limiting grains and red meat and eating lots of fresh leafy greens can also help. We wish you the best in your health journey!
