Comments

    • Hi Dusty, thank you for your question.

As with all homemade skincare product, a patch test is recommended before use. If you notice any irritation, please discontinue use.

We hope this helped and we wish you a lovely day!

  1. hello, could you use olive oil or coconut oil instead of grapeseed oil?

am curious, why did you choose grapeseed oil for this recipe?

    thank you!

    • Hi Johanna, thank you for your question.

We recommend using only organic grapeseed oil as grapes are heavily sprayed with pesticides, which make their way to the seed.

Grapeseed oil was particularly used in this recipe for the reason that it penetrates your skin really quickly and nourishes it with vitamin E.

  2. If we are not eating grapeseed oil, why would we want to use it here and be absorbed? Perhaps Jojoba, sweet almond, another option?

    • Thank you for your question, Deb.

We'd be more than happy to address this for you.

Grapeseed oil has actually been growing in popularity over the past few decades. It's often promoted as healthy due to its high amounts of polyunsaturated fat and vitamin E.

Grapeseed oil has numerous benefits and is easily absorbed by the skin. It helps reduce scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles. It improves the skin elasticity, protects skin from sun damage and may even help with hyper-pigmentation.

It is important to buy grapeseed oil that is grown organically as it contains antioxidants and omega-6 and -9 fatty acids.

To add, we recently published an article that has some great information on carrier oils and their benefits.
